Here’s the Thing….

I think recently people have been a little harsh on Anne Hathaway. Especially back around Oscar season. I am so not her biggest fan, but even I thought it went a little far. Here’s the thing though… she’s not exactly endearing herself to the world. For example, finding out she uses a 2,592 square foot apartment as a closet does not make me say, “Oh Anne, let’s be besties!” It makes me say, “REALLY?!?! Really? Come On!”

Anywho, if you’re feeling like you need to expand your wardrobe the apartment is now on the market for 4.5 million. Oh, and don’t be worried that your clothes and shoes will be stuffed into a stuffy little hole. The apartment features views of the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, courtesy of 16 giant windows.

iPhone 4,768z

Ok… so new iPhone stuff was announced yesterday. There’s all kindsa techie stuff that was mentioned, but basically all I heard was, the iPhone 5c is gonna be “cheap” and colorful and the iPhone 5s is part of Skynet just waiting for the day to reveal that it’s self aware and trying to take over the world.

FALSE ALARM!

I was cruising Facebook yesterday and saw a link with a headline that said ‘Rowling Confirms Harry Potter Book 8″

…… and my heart stopped……

then I thought, now wait a second. If this were true it would literally be everywhere. Every news channel, every website, every radio station, EVERYWHERE. So I checked my excitement, did a little googling, and sure enough…. hoax. While I was sure that was what I would find there was still part of me that was disappointed. I would never hold my breath expecting Ms. Rowling to write another Harry Potter Book, but a small part of me is still hanging on the idea that it COULD happen. Never say never right?

Why Doesn’t Anything Like This Ever Happen To Me?

Imagine you’re cleaning the attic and you run across a painting and think, “Hey, that’s a pretty picture. Wonder if it’s worth anything?”

…..and the you find out IT’S AN ORIGINAL VAN GOGH!!

Turns out this painting, “Sunset at Montmajour” had originally been owned by Van Gogh’s brother, sold to an art dealer, and then ended up in the hands of a Norwegian collector, who was told it was a fake. The collector shoved the painting up in the attic, where it sat until the current owners purchased it and found out it was real.

Officials wouldn’t assign a value, but a Van Gogh  painted the same year sold for $40 million in 1987.
