Community Rummage Sale

Sandy Hook United Methodist Church is hosting a community rummage sale to help raise funds for a mission trip to Belize this summer. There will be a bake sale full of sweet treats!

The sale will happen on Saturday, April 27, from 8 am – 1 pm.

If individuals have any used items [in good condition] they would like to donate, they can contact Stephen at (615) 423 7294 and he can coordinate drop off/pick up of their donations.

Favorite Food Fair

We are Helping Others Help Others, a project group of the 2013 class of Leadership Johnson County.On April 27th, at the Johnson County Fairgrounds, we are hosting “Favorite Food Fair.” Rent a booth and sell a favorite food to benefit your organization: homemade pie, caramel corn, sloppy joes, walking, lemonade, sweet tea, cookies, candy – the possibilities are endless! You bring the food, invite your supporters, and join us for a county wide gathering where people can learn about your organizations, and support your fundraising efforts.

Drug Take Back

On April 27, 2013  the Franklin Police Department is taking part in a drug take back event sponsored by the DEA.  From 10:00 am until 2:00 pm people can drop off old prescription drugs at the Franklin Walgreen’s, located at 20 S. Morton St in Franklin.  A Franklin Police Officer will be present at the take back event.

34th Annual Grizzly Grand Prix

Franklin College will host its 34th annual Grizzly Grand
Prix Team Bike Race on Saturday, April 27 in the circle drive in front of
the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, located at 690 State St.

Community members are invited to attend this free event. The women’s and
co-ed race will begin at 11 a.m. and is 16.5 miles in length. The men’s
race, 33 miles long, will immediately follow. In case of inclement weather,
the event will be postponed until Sunday, April 28.

The Grizzly Grand Prix is sponsored by Franklin College’s Student
Foundation. The college’s Student Congress will provide breakfast treats for
spectators beginning at 10 a.m.

Prior to the bike races, there will be a kite flying festival held on the
front lawn of the Indiana Masonic Home. Kites will be provided by Student
Foundation for those who wish to participate.

Inaugural New Breed’s Rally for Rupert’s Kids

This is an open car show and motorcycle rally benefiting Rupert’s Kids. Car Show registrations will be noon until 2 pm. $15/entry with free dash plaque. There will be several awards, “best of’s,” 50/50 and door prizes. Music provided by Mustache Sally. Food and drink will be sold. Bring the family as there will be face painting, air-brushing, plus a bouncy house!

 

Rupert will also be there!
