For a second year now, the Columbus Area Arts Council will hold an online auction leading up to their annual fundraising gala, unCommon Cause. Starting Saturday, October 12, anyone with an internet connection will be able to support the Columbus Area Arts Council by bidding on donated items at www.biddingforgood.com/uncommoncause.
Columbus Museum of Art and Design features the manipulated photographs of artist Darryl Jones at the Gallery at Hotel Indigo from October 1 through October 31.
October 17th is National Above the Influence Day. To celebrate, Columbus teens will be painting an “Above the Influence” Mural to show their commitment to a healthy lifestyle. Party Safe and Foundation For Youth want YOU to come to Mill Race Park People Trail and join us in painting the mural.

The Tobacco Awareness Action Team, a Reach Healthy Communities Initiative, will provide a kid-friendly program for 5-12 year olds and their parents about the dangers of tobacco use. The program will present frightening facts about tobacco use in Indiana, new and emerging products and tobacco industry tactics through interactive activities and games. Parents are encouraged to bring their children in Halloween costumes. This event is a part of National Above the Influence Day, encouraging youth to live above the influence of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Event is free and open to the public.
