Online Auction to Raise Funds for Columbus Area Arts Council

City of Franklin Food Drive

To benefit the InterChurch Food Pantry of Johnson County

Taking donations now through November 8th at the Cultural Arts & Recreation Center (396 Branigin Blvd) & City Hall (70 E Monroe St). Items Needed: toilet paper, hygiene products, canned fruit and vegetables, tomato juice, saltines, laundry detergent, smooth peanut butter, breakfast cereal.
*No Glass Items Please

Running for the Stars/Girls on the Run 5K

Family School Partners will host Running for the Stars/Girls on the Run on November 16, 2013.    This 5k run/walk is unique in its evening start at 5:30 p.m. from CSA Lincoln Campus, glow-in-the-dark T-shirts and the winding course through the streets of architecturally renowned Columbus. Young ladies participating in GIRLS ON THE RUN will be guest participants in the race.  Both pre- and post-activities are planned for participants and their families.

This event is perfect for the serious runner, recreational walker, or the entire family.  Registrations are currently being taken.  The registration fee is $25.00 for participants 19 and older, which includes the glow-in-the dark event t-shirt.  Ages 12 to 18 may register for $15.00 and receive the glow-in-the-dark t-shirt.  Children 11 and under are free with the option to purchase a shirt.

Pre-registration, which ends November 1st, is available at   Mail in and drop off registrations are also available at the BCSC Administration Building located at 1200 Central Avenue.  Pre-registration by the 1st of November will ensure a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt in the participant’s choice of size.

Daraja Choir Concert

Stop by for an inspiring night of music for the Daraja Choir concert featuring the children of Uganda. The concert is free and will be October 24 at 7:00 pm. There will be a love offering and all proceeds go to Daraja Chior and Kaihura Water Project – bringing clean water to parts of Africa.
