Join us on October 25th and 26th at the Hubler Chevrolet auto dealership for free FBI quality digital fingerprint and photographs from one of the top child safety programs in the country! The Keeping Kids Safe Project will take a child’s fingerprints and send them home with parents. Parents can use the record to turn directly over to authorities anywhere in the world to instantly aid in an investigation. There will also be community organizations present to provide safety information for families.

For a second year now, the Columbus Area Arts Council will hold an online auction leading up to their annual fundraising gala, unCommon Cause. Starting Saturday, October 12, anyone with an internet connection will be able to support the Columbus Area Arts Council by bidding on donated items at www.biddingforgood.com/uncommoncause.
Casey’s General Store invites you to help raise money for St. Jude’s Research Hospital. The store is hosting a Rummage Sale, selling paper pumpkins, real pumpkins donated from Whipker’s, and some brave teens are donating their time to pump your gas – all for a donation to St. Jude’s. There will also be a car show. The store’s goal is $8000.

Family School Partners will host Running for the Stars/Girls on the Run on November 16, 2013. This 5k run/walk is unique in its evening start at 5:30 p.m. from CSA Lincoln Campus, glow-in-the-dark T-shirts and the winding course through the streets of architecturally renowned Columbus. Young ladies participating in GIRLS ON THE RUN will be guest participants in the race. Both pre- and post-activities are planned for participants and their families.
This event is perfect for the serious runner, recreational walker, or the entire family. Registrations are currently being taken. The registration fee is $25.00 for participants 19 and older, which includes the glow-in-the dark event t-shirt. Ages 12 to 18 may register for $15.00 and receive the glow-in-the-dark t-shirt. Children 11 and under are free with the option to purchase a shirt.
Pre-registration, which ends November 1st, is available at www.signmeup.com. Mail in and drop off registrations are also available at the BCSC Administration Building located at 1200 Central Avenue. Pre-registration by the 1st of November will ensure a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt in the participant’s choice of size.
Columbus Museum of Art and Design features the manipulated photographs of artist Darryl Jones at the Gallery at Hotel Indigo from October 1 through October 31.
The First United Methodist Church of Seymour is hosting their Annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, October 26 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. All proceeds will go to missions. Join us for outstanding crafts, artwork, and baked goods. There will be a silent auction as well! There is no admission fee and there will be plenty of free parking. Lunch will be served and snacks, coffee and soft drinks will be available all day.
The community lost a special member last year, Daniel Schuetz. We will be doing a fundraiser to Celebrate Daniel October 26, 2013 all proceeds go to the Schuetz Home Fund.
