Tickets are now on sale for Columbus Area Arts Council’s annual fundraiser gala, unCommon Cause. This year’s theme is Bollywood: The Sights and Sounds of India. With this year’s theme, organizers hope to transport revelers to an exotic place complete with canopied balconies, elephants (maybe not elephants), festive music, dancing, and a riot of color.
The 38th annual unCommon Cause will be held Saturday, October 26 at 6:30 PM at The Commons. Our co-chairpersons Nida & Umar Farooq and Hanna Omar & Nebil Baghum invite the community to participate in the festivities. Honorary co-chairpersons are Kiyomi & Anant Talaulicar and Sarla & Swadesh Kalsi. All proceeds from the event go to support Columbus Area Arts Council.
Complementing the night’s theme, Indian-inspired food will be prepared by chef Gethin Thomas. Exotic drinks, live and silent auctions, and fast-paced games will keep things spicy. Living Proof will once again provide after-dinner music for dancing. Indian-inspired attire is encouraged for this black-tie optional event.
Tables of eight can be reserved for $1,000. Individual reservations can be made for $125 each. All reservations will end October 18 and can be made at the Arts Council offices located in The Commons, or by calling (812) 376-2539. Reservations may also be made online at www.unCommonCauseAuction.org.
