January 25, 2014
Not everyone begins the new year on January 1. Celebrate the Lunar New Year with the History Center. We will explore the Chinese zodiac calendar, make some horse crafts, and try Chinese New Year traditions. Be sure to wear something red for good luck!
Our Saturday Samplers are monthly family friendly workshops catered towards small children.
Ron Shadley was the driving force behind the restoration of Sandhill Cemetery. He will discuss the restoration process as well as sharing before and after photos of the monuments. Program sponsored by the Bartholomew County Genealogical Society.
The Brown County Women’s Resource Center is launching a support group for women and men affected by suicide. The first meeting for Survivors of Suicide (SOS) will be Saturday November 16th from 6 to 8pm. The group will meet weekly on Saturday evenings from 6 to 8pm at the Women’s Resource Center in Nashville at 1156 Old State Road 46.
The purpose of SOS is to give people a secure place to ask questions, share their feelings, receive individual support, or help linking up to resources. Participation is cost-free. The group is organized and led by Carrie Foley, a certified counselor who runs the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) and Carisa Whittall, returning Brown County resident. Both have been caregivers to their families after a suicide.
