August 1st Deadline for Johnson County Community Foundation Letter of Inquiry
The Johnson County Community Foundation will again offer grants to area nonprofits during its next grant cycle. Grants will be awarded to 501(c)3 organizations, schools and municipalities that serve Johnson County residents in the area of agriculture, arts & culture, civic & community development, education, enrichment, and health & human services.
A letter of inquiry must be submitted by August 1st to the Johnson County Community Foundation and can be found in the Apply for a Grant page of the Foundation’s website at www.jccf.org.
The community foundation makes it possible for people of all means to act philanthropically, regardless of the size of their donation, and provides leadership to improve Johnson County forever. Donations may be made at any time to established funds. A list of established funds can be located at www.jccf.org.

Flat Rock Firemans Festival in Flat Rock, IN August 8th and 9th 2014. This is a fish fry with all proceeds going to the fire department to buy new equipment.
The 7th Annual Zach Pickard Pelican Run will be held August 9th at 8 a.m. It is a 5K run/walk in Brownstown.
The entry fee is $20 in advance, or $25 the day of the race.

The Columbus Challenge is more than a race. It is an event! Come out to cheer on your favorite athlete, enjoy great music, and watch your kids enjoy the bounce house and portable gym!

Volunteers are needed at water stops, registration, hospitality/post race food, traffic control, body marking, photography, and other areas.
