The Indiana Artists Club annual Member Exhibition, which opens September 22, features up to 100 pieces in a variety of media and styles, including pastels, oils, watercolors, acrylics and more. Most of the artwork is for sale.
A free opening reception, with light refreshments, will be held at the Columbus Learning Center on Saturday, October 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Shawn Thomas Dingwerth, executive director of the Richmond Museum of Art and author, will speak at the reception at 6:30 p.m. about his new book, “The Richmond Group Artists.” Copies of the book, which tells the untold story of a group of artists who developed a distinctive impressionistic style which transformed Richmond into an important center for art in the Midwest, will be available for purchase and signature.
The exhibition runs through December 30, 2014. It is free and open to the public, Monday – Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours until 10 p.m. on Monday – Thursday through Dec. 15. Vendors will be present with information for dogs and their owners inside the pool deck.
Indy Dog & Disc Club will entertain in the field east of pool at 6 pm and 7 pm.
Doggie Swim will be held from 6:30 pm to 8 pm – $5 per dog.
All dogs must be sociable, accompanied by an owner/handler, and on leash (except while swimming).
Get ready to churn butter and mix cornbread. We are going to cook like a pioneer. We will work together to make a hardy frontier meal using hearth cooking techniques and historic recipes, then sit down and enjoy are fixins. There will be vegetarian sides, but the main course will have meat. Nothing will be vegan.
