Help Raise the Bar on financial literacy! During September candy bars will be available at Columbus Centra Credit Union branches for a $1 donation. Proceeds will support financial literacy programs provided by Centra Foundation to second grade and high school students. The programs help children learn important money management skills. The Indiana Artists Club annual Member Exhibition, now open, features up to 100 pieces in a variety of media and styles, including pastels, oils, watercolors, acrylics and more. Most of the artwork is for sale.
A free opening reception, with light refreshments, will be held at the Columbus Learning Center on Saturday, October 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Shawn Thomas Dingwerth, executive director of the Richmond Museum of Art and author, will speak at the reception at 6:30 p.m. about his new book, “The Richmond Group Artists.” Copies of the book, which tells the untold story of a group of artists who developed a distinctive impressionistic style which transformed Richmond into an important center for art in the Midwest, will be available for purchase and signature.
The exhibition runs through December 30, 2014. It is free and open to the public, Monday – Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours until 10 p.m. on Monday – Thursday through Dec. 15.
