Cedar Rock Haunted Trail and Scare Fest

Sitting right outside of the town of Nashville is the Bill Monroe Music Park and Campground. This month for Halloween this location is home to Cedar Rock. Cedar Rock is a unique haunted attraction in that is has the Midwest’s longest haunted trail and Scare Fest featuring live music and a bonfire. Other haunted attractions include Zombie Challenge and Electro Shock Maze.
General admission prices range from $15 for the haunted trail only to $25 for a combo ticket, with discounted prices for children 12 and under, pre-purchased tickets online, and groups of 15 or more. V.I.P. Fast Pass tickets available at higher rate. Scare Fest is free.

I65 Interchange Public Meeting

The City of Franklin is working to develop a Strategic Economic Development Plan for the development/redevelopment of the I-65/US 44 (King Street) interchange.  This plan will define the community’s long term vision for the area, as well as establish the strategies and tools to be used in achieving the implementation of that vision.  Community input is critical to the successful development of this plan.  A public input session has been scheduled for 7:00 pm on October 22 at Beeson Hall to gather public feedback.  Please plan to attend and provide your valuable feedback in assisting to develop the best plan for our community.

Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame Induction Nominations

Nominations for Inaugural Induction are Being Accepted Through September 1, 2014

The Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame (IMVHOF) is calling for nominations for its first group of honorees.

Its board of directors is compiled of representatives from the business, government and retired military sectors. The Chairman of the board, Russell H. Dowden, Jr., COL, USA (Retired) was inducted into the Arkansas Military Veterans Hall of Fame in 2011 as that is his home state. Now a Hoosier, Mr. Dowden formed the idea of creating a similar organization here.

Up to fifteen veterans will be honored for military service achievements and/or community contributions. To be eligible, a nominee must meet any one of these criteria:
> Been born in Indiana
> Entered military service in Indiana
> Lived in Indiana for a minimum of eight years

All branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, all ages, living or deceased, and males and females will be considered equally. The complete nomination packet and criteria can be found at imvhof.com. Nominations will be accepted through end of day September 1, 2014.

The first induction ceremony will take place on November 7, 2014 at the Garrison at Ft. Benjamin Harrison in Lawrence, IN. Event details will be available on the website as it nears.
