When Old Houses Become Like Spouses
Nancy Hiller, designer-builder of custom furniture and cabinetry and the author of the book A Home of Her Own, will discuss how making or restoring a home can be a revelatory process, enlightening homeowners as much about themselves as about the structures on which they are working. In fact, some of the women Hiller interviewed came to see their home as a kind of partner, a development that raises intriguing and rarely posed questions about the meanings of home.
