Sixteen miles represents the east-west distance across Johnson County. Register at healthierjc.org then report your miles! Michael Martone: Double Wide World Tour of Indiana

Fort Wayne native Michael Martone visits Columbus during his 13th annual Double Wide Tour of Indiana.  Martone, an Indiana native, writes fiction and nonfiction and uses Indiana and the Midwest as the backdrop for his work.  He has been writing and editing for over 35 years and his many books include The Blue Guide to Indiana, Fort Wayne Is Seventh on Hitler’s List and A Place of Sense, and Townships. He has received numerous awards for his work.  A graduate of Indiana University and Johns Hopkins University, he currently is a professor at the University of Alabama.  Martone will read from his works and books will be available for purchase from Viewpoint Books.

National Feral Cat Awareness Day Presentation

You are invited to a humane education presentation by Hope For Ferals on Tuesday, October 14th to raise awareness for FERAL CATS! Join us in our mission to advocate for ferals and give them hope in Bartholomew County, Indiana!
We will start at the conference room at Bartholomew County Public Library Conference Room from 3:30PM to 5:00. We will have a short presentation on why nonprofit Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs like HFF are vital to our community, what Hope For Ferals does, why we do it, and what you can do to help!
We will then go around Columbus and pass out information TNR and Hope For Ferals after the presentation. Educating the public on TNR will help reduced the number of cats killed in local shelters!
