On the 150th anniversary of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln Mark Kevitt will share the story of the assassination. Almost from the moment he died, Lincoln’s death has been surrounded by controversy and sensationalism. Was John Wilkes Booth crazy? Did the Confederate government plan this? Did members of the President’s own administration conspire to kill Lincoln? Or did it occur on orders of the Pope? Kevitt’s presentation will shed some light on what did occur 150 years ago and address some of the controversies. Kevitt has been an Abraham Lincoln aficionado for 55 years. He is a member of the Friends of Lincoln Collection, the Lincoln Forum, the Surratt Society and the Civil War Trust.
