How Human Rights Can Build Haiti….
and How We Can Help.

Professor Quigley teaches at the I.U. Robert H. McKinney School of Law,
where he directs the Health & Human Rights Clinic.
He is the author of *How Human Rights Can Build Haiti: The Lawyers, The Activists, The Grassroots Movement
and also Walking Together, Walking Far: How a U.S. and African Medical School Partnership is Winning the Fight Against HIV/AIDS.

Join us as we confront the connection between poverty, health, & human rights
in a resource poor setting such as Haiti, and learn how we can help make a difference.

Refreshments will be served.

*We will have this recent book available for purchase. Professor Quigley will be pleased to sign copies.

All ages are encouraged to make an ornament to honor a veteran they know.  Ornaments will be placed on the Heroes Tree located at the front library entrance.  The tree will go up November 8 and stay in place through the end of the year.

Finding Delight in Disorder

Former pastor and author Tony Roberts leads these sessions based on his spiritual memoir Delight in Disorder.  The course will explore questions on the relationship of faith and mental illness such as Does a person who commits suicide forfeit God’s saving love?  How can someone with a mental illness use faith as a resource for healing?

Philip Gulley at Hope Branch Library

Quaker pastor and author Philip Gulley will chat about his latest book A Place Called Hope.  Although the book jacket states Hope is a “suburban town,” we are pretty sure the title refers to our Hope. The book features Quaker Pastor Sam Gardner from Gulley’s Harmony Series.  Viewpoint Books will have copies of A Place Called Hope for sale.  Gulley lives in Danville IN and writes both fiction and non-fiction books.
