Join the Bartholomew County Historical Society on April 5th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. as we celebrate the grand opening of the Haw Creek Heritage Center in Hope, IN. Come and explore the new exhibits, including a photo exhibition by Carla Clark; get a closer look at some never before seen treasures of our collection, try your hand at a heritage craft, shop in our new gift shop, hum along to some lively music, and savor complimentary refreshments. This event is free and open to the public. Additional free programming will be held on the Hope town square in conjunction with Hope Civil War Days. This program is made possible through support by the Hope Town Council. The Haw Creek Heritage Arts Center is at 111 Aiken Street in Hope.

German Township Vol. Fire Department is having a fish fry on March 29th, 2014 from 11am to 7pm at their station in Tayolrsville, IN 47280.
We will be serving fish sandwiches, french fries, baked beens, coleslaw, potato salad and hot dogs. Sandwiches are $5.00 and sides are $1.50.

Our Hospice of Decatur/Shelby will present its 10th annual fundraiser, “A Royal Night,” on March 15th, 2014 at Indiana Downs Clubhouse (Trackside), 4200 North Michigan Road, Shelbyville, IN. All proceeds will help provide care and services for Our Hospice patients and their families in the Shelby County area. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. with a social hour, silent auction and cash bar, followed by a buffet dinner and live auction. DJ entertainment will be provided by Smashed Productions of Shelbyville.
Highlighting the evening will be the crowning of the king and/or queen(s) from one of the five high schools in Shelby County. Two students from each school are participating as a team to raise both awareness and funds for Our Hospice of Decatur/Shelby, an office of Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, which is a not-for-profit, community-based organization that provides care and services in 15 South Central Indiana counties.
Event tickets are $25.00 each, or two for $45.00 and are on sale at Mickey’s T-Mart 748 S. Harrison Street, and Three Sisters Books & Gifts, 7 Public Square, Our Hospice of Decatur/Shelby, 1201 N.
