Are you interested in giving your kids the opportunity to learn Spanish or reinforce their native Spanish language? Join us at FFY to learn more about the Spanish Learning Center, which offers a semester course of Saturday morning Spanish classes for children ages 4-12.
Classes run from 9 to 11 a.m. every Saturday during the school calendar. Learn more about the spring semester, which kicks off on January 24. Participate in the activities your kids will experience during the semester.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and specific program details will be shared at 6 p.m.

Break out the recipes, gather the ingredients and roll out the dough! It’s time to start baking cookies for the 10th Annual Cookie Contest. On Saturday, December 6, bring your delectable entries to Mutual Savings Bank, 80 E. Jefferson Street in Franklin. The contest will be divided into three age divisions: Children, ages 12 and under; Teens, ages 13 to 17; and adults, ages 18 and older. Purdue Extension Services of Johnson County will judge cookie entries. The winner in each age division will be awarded $50 courtesy of Mutual Savings Bank.
Cookie Contest Schedule:
3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Cookie entries accepted
4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Storytime with Mrs. Claus
5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Enjoy the Holiday Lighting Parade
6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Craft Time with Mrs. Claus and all Cookies Displayed
New this year! Ribbons will be awarded in each age division for the following categories: 1. Best presentation on plate 2. Best uniformed style 3. Best flavor 4. Best topping, icing or decoration 5. Best originality 6. Best level of difficulty Contest sponsored by Johnson County Public Library, Friends of Johnson County Public Library and Mutual Savings Bank.
