Semi-truck show – registration begins Friday 8/1/14 at 5 pm with light show and light judging at dusk. Saturday 8 am to dusk – registration ends at 9 am with judging beginning at 10 am. Saturday – TRUCK PARADE AT DUSK – Awards Ceremony before parade.
Classes include Antique Trucks, Working Class Bobtail or Combo, Limited Mileage Combo, Wash & Show Bobtail or Combo, Specialty trucks, Cab Forward, Sleeper, Paint, Motor, Lights Bobtail or Combo and NO HOPE.

Help support Jennings County Youth Foundation (JCYF) by participating in the 5K walk/run fundraising event. JCYF is a 501 (C) (3), nonprofit organization and all proceeds will help raise awareness, offer hope, and provide opportunities for the youth of Jennings County.
Trinity Full Gospel Church of North Vernon is hosting a Fish Fry Fundraiseron August 2nd.
All Proceeds will go to Trinity Full Gospel Church Building Fund to help finish their new building.
On August 2nd at The Cellular Connection (Premium Verizon Wireless Retailer), there will be a backpack giveaway. The giveaway comes as an initiative that’s part of TCC’s ‘Culture of Good’. There will be roughly 250 backpacks to be given away. Each one includes school supplies such as pencils, paper, folder, etc., so that families in need can take part and send their kids to school prepared in the fall.

Franklin churches are joining together to worship God and pray for the needs of our community students and schools. We will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the High School Auditorium, where a combined praise team will lead us in worship. We will also pray for the faculty, staff, and administration of Franklin Community Schools.
At 7:00 we will break up and head to the various schools for prayer walks. Specific needs of each school will be presented, and those at each school will pray for those needs in small groups as they walk around the building.

The 7th Annual Zach Pickard Pelican Run will be held August 9th at 8 a.m. It is a 5K run/walk in Brownstown.
The entry fee is $20 in advance, or $25 the day of the race.
We take for granted how neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night keeps our letter carriers from making their rounds, but have you considered what a hassle it would be to drive a wagon to town to pick up your mail? We will learn how rural families in Bartholomew County enjoyed the nation’s first rural free delivery postal service. You will even get to design your own stamp! Our Saturday Samplers are monthly family friendly workshops catered towards small children.

We will work together to make a hardy frontier meal using hearth cooking techniques and historic recipes, then sit down and enjoy are fixins. There will be vegetarian sides, but the main course will have meat. Nothing will be vegan.
