We’ll discover the trials of moving pioneers and you will get a chance to see what you would take with you if you were traveling to the frontier. You’ll also take home a pioneer surprise. Animals are an important part of any farm. They give us food and clothing, they protect us and even help with chores. We’ll learn all about the furry and feathered friends on the farm and make some animal crafts too. Which animal will be your favorite?

The 10th Annual Ivy Tech Community College Run for the Ivy 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk fundraiser will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014. This event raises scholarship funds for Ivy Tech students in our community while promoting healthy activities for participants.
Since this is our 10th anniversary, we have added a second race, a 10K. We hope this will pull in another group of runners who strive for longer distances. There will be a kids’ free fun run like in years past. The kids love it! In addition, our early childhood education students will provide child care for racers’ children during the race.

“Spring into Action” at the United Way Volunteer Action Fair on April 29th from 4:30-6:30pm at The Commons!
Every minute of service creates a stronger community! There is a special feeling you get when you fill a need, solve a problem or simply make life better for someone else. Here’s your chance to identify volunteer opportunities and become an integral part of cultural change by giving back in your own community. Community-based nonprofits participate to share their organization’s story so they can help match your time and talent with their volunteer needs.
One thing is for sure: Your help is needed in the community! Any amount of time or talent you can share will be greatly appreciated by the organizations who dedicate themselves to making our area a stronger and more vibrant place to live. We look forward to seeing you at the fair!
