During March Disability Awareness Month, a Disability Awareness Shabbat will inform the new members of the Congregation Beth Shalom, in Indianapolis, on the importance of inclusion and acceptance.

The Shabbat will feature guest speaker Ric Edwards, director of safety and ADA compliance at the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and will conclude with a reception.

Presenter Ric Edwards, director of safety and ADA compliance at the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, will share stories from his personal experience on the importance of disability awareness and inclusion for people with disabilities.

Rabbi Stanley Halpern, who leads the new member Shabbat, was active in the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and has a passion for educating the younger generation on the struggles people with disabilities have faced to achieve the rights they have now.
