Drug Take Back day returns to Bartholomew Co.

COLUMBUS, Ind. – On Saturday, October 26, Healthy Communities, ASAP, Indiana Attorney General’s Office, the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, and Sveni Thalor will give the public its opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous expired or unused prescription drugs.

Those old drugs can be taken to the United Way Center of 13th Street in Columbus for drop off, and proper disposal. The effort is led by Columbus North Senior, Sveni Thalor, as her senior project aims to decrease the availability of prescription medications and provide environmentally safe drug disposal options.

Participants in the Drug Take Back Day will also receive a home disposal kit provided by DisposeRX. Also, the first 50 participants will receive a $5 gift card for local businesses.
