Smartphone Photography Simplified

Heather Adams, professional photographer and library staff member, will discuss how to make taking pictures on your phone a much easier process. She will also discuss uploading to Facebook, Instagram, and other programs so you can share your works of art with your family and friends. Bring your device and have all your questions answered. The next Ansel Adams could be in your smart phone.

Connections

Connections is a 10 week program designed to provide support and education for: building self-esteem and worthiness, coping with shame and guilt, creating healthy relationships, and developing resilience in times of change.

Meets once a week for 10 weeks. Cost is $40 each week. Your insurance may cover the cost. Contact us for more information about which insurance plans are accepted. Pre-registration is required.

FLEECED – SPEAKING Out AGAINST SENIOR FINANCIAL ABUSE

FLEECED – SPEAKING Out AGAINST SENIOR FINANCIAL ABUSE is a documentary produced in cooperation between WFYI Public Media and the National Community Reinvestment Coalition. This program reveals what can happen to older adults when their trust is undermined by con artists, unscrupulous sales people and risky financial investments. The program also reveals how older Americans are fighting back and becoming powerful advocates for reform.

The hard-hitting documentary titled Fleeced:  Speaking Out Against Senior Financial Abuse aims to shed light on the problem.

Help Create Meaningful Changes With Your Special Needs Child

Alysia Fuhrmann, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, will share ideas with parents to implement in their homes, schools, and communities, with a special focus on Applied Behavior Analysis – a method of modifying behavior. This method can be used to increase communication, social and daily living skills, as well as decrease unwanted behaviors. This program is for parents of children with development disabilities, such as autism or Down syndrome, or those with behavioral challenges.

Music at Asbury

Music at Asbury brings the Indiana University 20 piece Brass Choir to the Asbury United Methodist Church on Saturday, April, 12th at 7:30 P. M. The 6 trumpets, 6 French horns, 4 trombones, 2 baritones and 2 tubas will fill the sanctuary with the wonderful sound of brass harmony. 
 
The program is mostly modern including an arrangement of “Star Dust” by Domenic Spera and a group of Henry Mancini songs.
 
There is no admission charge.

Reid’s Race 5K

Come on out for Reid’s Race 5K!

Reid was a sweet, cuddly, giggly little boy who brought a smile to all those around him. He passed away in his sleep on September 19, 2011 at the age of 5 months. Please help us in our fight to continue research into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other sleep-related infant deaths and offer support to other families. Any amount is greatly appreciated! All proceeds benefit the CJ Foundation for SIDS.
 
There will be a silent auction and more at Ceraland Park on April 12th. The silent auction and registration starts at 2pm and the 5K will begin at 3:30pm. During the race, the silent auction will continue, as well as kid’s games and activities.
