America has recently seen the rise of many prominent political conspiracy theories, ranging from those surrounding the September 11th attacks to the origins of Barack Obama’s birth certificate. What should we make of those in the American public who are sympathetic to such extreme theories? Dr. Ryan Neville-Shepard, Assistant Professor of Communication Studies at IUPUC, will review the latest academic debates on how to categorize such believers, and explore relevant case studies in modern American politics.
