Free to Breathe Indianapolis
Indianapolis Joins Movement to Double Lung Cancer Survival at Free to Breathe
WHAT: Champion the lung cancer cause by registering today for the Inaugural Indianapolis 5K Run/Walk & 1-Mile Walk on June 22 at Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis. The inspirational event will bring the community together to raise funds that will fuel groundbreaking research necessary for making the dramatic breakthroughs in early detection and treatment that can save lives.
All proceeds support the National Lung Cancer Partnership, a non-profit organization dedicated to doubling lung cancer survival by 2022. For more information, to register or donate, visit www.freetobreathe.org/indianapolis.

Bartholomew Co. Youth Football Fish Fry & Sign-Ups
The Bartholomew County Youth Football will be hosting a fish fry fundraiser and a sign-up for youngsters to play. The event will take place at Mill Race Park near the parking lot at the entrance on Saturda,y June 22, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
Fish sandwiches are $5, and the cost to sign up for youth football is $80. Other donations are appreciated.

Cierra’s Hope Fundraiser
Cierra is 6 years old and was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s in November of 2012. She is the daughter of Mike and Marci McCauley and there will be a benefit to help raise money to help offset medical cost and travel expenses. Come join in on the fun for a great cause! Pulled pork dinner starting at 12:00 noon. A corn hole tournament will start at 2:00 pm (there will be small entry fee), a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and lots of music and good times!
Fill the Shelves
HPW Wrestling and JD Byrider present “Fill the Shelves,” a fundraiser for Love Chapel on Saturday, June 22. 6:00 pm bell. Admission to get in is 6 canned food items per person.
There will be concessions, a raffle, t-shirts, and wrestling items.
Bring your own lawn chair and no outside coolers/food allowed.

The Second Baptist Church in Columbus will celebrate its 134th anniversary with a homecoming celebration on June 23rd from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Bingo Fundraiser
Columbus Chaos 8u Fastpitch team will playing in the USFA World Series in Panama City Beach in July, The team is trying to raise funds to help with travel expenses. $20 for 20 cards, Concessions will be available for purchase during the event. Prizes include $750+ in giftcards, over night hotel stays, massages, and much more.
Columbus Chaos Poker Tournament
Poker tournament to raise funds for team travel expenses. Columbus Chaos is an 8u fastpitch team that will be playing in the USFA World Series in Panama City Beach, July 6-13.

Groundbreaking Music and Social Change: Negro Spirituals
Information professional and spiritualist Madelyn Shackelford Washington will highlight the importance of music being studied as a cultural phenomenon. This lecture-demonstration will explore how Spirituals and their emotional and cognitive impacts have been fundamental to the construction of certain social movement cultures. Our presenter is an Assistant Librarian at the University Library of Columbus and a well-seasoned musician, singer and choreographer.
