Upcoming Events At This Venue
November 14, 2014
The Columbus Regional Health Foundation is excited to announce plans for its annual fundraising event, The Reverse Raffle, to benefit Volunteers in Medicine. This year’s event, “A Generation of Caring,” takes place the evening of November 14 at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center. A highlight of the black-tie optional event will be an exquisite dinner prepared by renowned chef David Tallent of Bloomington’s Restaurant Tallent, as well as the event’s namesake – a reverse raffle ending in a grand prize of $10,000. Event packages are $170 for individuals and $240 per couple, and include one raffle ticket. Five hundred tickets will be sold and may be purchased separately from the packages for $100 each. The grand prize raffle winner need not be present to win. Event proceeds benefit Volunteers in Medicine Clinic (VIM), which relies on those funds for a quarter of its annual operating budget.
About Volunteers in Medicine
In 2013, VIM recorded more than 6,500 patient visits and disbursed medications valued at more than $2 million through its Medication Assistance Program. The clinic receives no tax dollars or subsidies from the government, and relies on community donations through Columbus Regional Health Foundation, and the compassion of volunteer doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to help keep the doors open and deliver high-quality care. To be prepared to meet the challenges and uncertainties of what lay ahead, VIM continues to strive to create a place where patients not only get the medical care they need, but are engaged and equipped to overcome barriers to a healthy lifestyle. Even in the changing face of healthcare, the clinic anticipates the community need for its services to remain mostly unchanged.
