SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Chamber of Commerce has announced plans to have a public mural painted on the side of the Farmer’s Club building in downtown Seymour. The building has housed the offices for the chamber since 1985 and serves as the backdrop for the Burkhart Plaza park that was dedicated in late 2020.

A task force group of community leaders, stakeholders, and art students will guide the project. A request for proposals was published earlier this week through the Arts Council of Indianapolis and the Indiana Public Art Network. Artists should submit resumes, examples of artwork, a statement of technical experience, and a letter of reference.

The selection process continues through spring, with an artist named by mid-summer. The project completes in late October and the public will then be invited to an unveiling ceremony and party.
