COLUMBUS, Ind. – A multiple-vehicle accident resulted in the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office being dispatched to the intersection of State Street and South County Road 250E on Tuesday at around 1:30 p.m.
Witness statements and camera footage confirmed that a pickup truck, traveling south on C.R. 250E, entered State Street and collided with a pickup truck hauling a trailer. The pickup truck and trailer were pushed into the westbound lane and collided with a semi-trailer. The semi was hauling a 40,000-pound steel roll that went through the trailer crushing the rear of the semi’s cab.
Two of the drivers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Columbus Regional Health.
The intersection was reportedly closed for several hours.
