Child Safety Day

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Bring the family out for a morning of fun, learning and all things safety!

Healthy Communities is partnering with Safe Kids Bartholomew County for a FREE Child Safety Day on Saturday, August 22 from 9–11 a.m. at Dorel Juvenile Group, 2525 State Street in Columbus.

The event is designed to help families learn practical ways to keep children safe at home, on the road and while sleeping.

🚗 Families can take advantage of FREE car seat safety checks with certified technicians, plus a safe sleep trade-in program for recalled or unsafe cribs, bassinets and mattresses. Parents can bring eligible unsafe sleep products and trade them in for newer, safer options.

🚒🚓🚑 And for the kids — it’s Touch-a-Truck! They’ll have a chance to get up close and explore fire trucks, police cars and EMS vehicles.

🎁 Several local organizations will be on hand with safety information, family resources, prizes and giveaways. Kidscommons will be giving away a free membership, and the Columbus Fire Department will give away a 10-year sealed-battery smoke detector.

Participating organizations include the Columbus Fire Department, Columbus Police Department, Foundation for Youth, Cummins, Girl Scouts of America, Be SMART, Kidscommons and more.

☀️ The Automotive Safety Program will also provide a demonstration showing the dangers of heat stroke inside closed vehicles during the summer.

📻 And be sure to stop by and say hi to Rob! He’ll be broadcasting LIVE from Child Safety Day, so come hang out with us while you check out everything the event has to offer!
