NORTH VERNON, Ind. – A four-year-old child was killed when a tree fell on a Country Squire Lakes home along Honey Locust Drive during a thunderstorm on Tuesday afternoon, August 11.
At around 3:30 p.m., the Jennings County Sheriff's Office and various emergency crews responded to a report that a young child was possibly trapped inside a home. Following high-speed winds, a tree had fallen onto the back bedroom of the residence.
A boy was found inside the Geneva Township home in the bedroom. The four-year-old was pronounced dead from his injuries.
