GREENWOOD, Ind. - Trent Moorhead is the next head varsity boys basketball coach for Center Grove High School (CGHS). Moorhead will assume the role at the start of the 2026-27 school year, succeeding Zach Hahn, who announced plans to step down at the end of this season.

Moorhead’s hiring is pending approval by the Center Grove Board of School Trustees at its May meeting.

Moorhead brings four years of head coaching experience at Hauser High School in Hope, where he built the program into one of the state's elite Class A programs. In his time leading the Jets, he compiled an overall record of 79-27, including a 26-3 mark this past season, the program's best since its 2006 state championship run.

Under his leadership, Hauser earned back-to-back semistate appearances, three consecutive undefeated Mid-Hoosier Conference titles, and two regional championships.

He was also named the 2025 and 2026 Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association District 3 Coach of the Year, along with being named a South Team coach for the IndyStar Boys' All-Star “Futures Game” this coming June.
