City of Franklin releases statement on Compass Park fire

Courtesy-City of Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ind. - Late Saturday morning, the City of Franklin and Mayor Steve Barnett released a statement concerning the Compass Park blaze that occurred early Friday morning.

"Yesterday, our Franklin community was reminded just how quickly life can change, and just as importantly, how strong we are when we come together.

We are incredibly grateful for the brave men and women who responded to the fire and worked tirelessly to keep others safe. Thank you to the fire departments from Franklin, Bargersville, White River, Greenwood, Whiteland, Needham, Edinburgh, Trafalgar, and Nineveh for your courage, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to serving others.

A heartfelt thank you as well to those who stepped up to support our first responders. Your generosity did not go unnoticed:

  • Chick-fil-A, Jack’s Donuts, and Main & Madison for providing food
  • Starbucks for coffee
  • Lords Restoration for supplying Gatorade and water

Your kindness helped fuel those who were working long hours on scene, and it made a meaningful difference.

We also want to recognize our incredible community, city staff, and the residents and team at Compass Park. Your swift actions, compassion, and continued commitment to caring for one another truly embody the spirit of Franklin.

In moments like these, we are reminded that Franklin is more than a city; it’s a family. And together, we will always rise to meet the challenges before us."
