Johnson County Fair is less than 2 weeks away

FRANKLIN, Ind. - It won't be long now. The 2026 Johnson County 4-H and Agricultural Fair is set for July 19-25 at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in  Franklin.

Although the week-long Fair doesn't officially open until Sunday, July 19, at 8 a.m., the Fair Parade takes place on Saturday, July 18, at 1 p.m., in downtown Franklin.

The midway is open every evening from 5 to 11 p.m., and also on Tuesday and Saturday afternoons. There is a grandstand attraction every night.

One of the big events on the first day is the 2026 Miss Johnson County Fair Queen Contest at 7 p.m. The pageant and crowning ceremony are scheduled for Sunday evening, July 19, inside the McCarty Mulch Indoor Arena at the fairgrounds.

  • Franklin's Graham Road project starts Monday

    FRANKLIN, Ind. - Phase 1 of the Graham Road project in Franklin begins on or after Monday, August 24. The contractor says Graham Road will be fully reconstructed from Earlywood Drive to Paul Hand Boulevard, and the bridge over Canary Creek will be replaced.

  • Bartholomew, Johnson County farms receive Hoosier Homestead Award

    INDIANAPOLIS - At the Indiana State Fair on Wednesday, August 19, the Indiana Department of Agriculture presented several Bartholomew and Johnson County farm families with a Hoosier Homestead Award in recognition of their commitment to Indiana agriculture.
