FRANKLIN, Ind. - A semi-truck accident on southbound I-65 at the 86.5 marker left at least one person injured, the truck badly damaged and overturned on its side, and snarled traffic for about five hours on Tuesday evening.

Emergency crews and law enforcement responded to I-65, just south of the Franklin exit, at around 4:45 p.m.

The southbound lanes of the interstate were closed, and traffic was diverted onto State Road 44.

By the time authorities cleaned up the crash scene, I-65 had been shut down for almost five hours. Traffic resumed flowing just after 9:30 p.m.

The Indiana State Police are investigating the wreck.
