Courtesy-Shelby County Sheriff Department

SHRLBY COUNTY, Ind. - The Shelby County Sheriff Department, Shelbyville Fire Department, Shelbyville Police Department, and Fairland Fire Department responded early Saturday morning to an accident on County Road 400N, on the overpass of I-74. One man died in the 4:25 a.m. wreck.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a motorcyclist was traveling west on C.R. 400N and struck a semi-truck trailer.

The semi was operated by 26-year-old Arif Ozer of Primos, Pennsylvania. A 43-year-old male from Fairland was the driver of the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  The identification of the deceased will be released later by the Shelby County Coroner’s Office.

So far, the investigation shows that the semi was exiting I-74 eastbound onto C.R. 400N and turning east through a green light. The motorcycle was traveling west on C.R. 400N,  disregarded the red light, and then struck the trailer of the semi.
