COLUMBUS, Ind. – A 13-year-old boy is recovering in the hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Tuesday, April 28, at 4:45 p.m.
The Columbus Police Department (CPD) and first responders were called to 5th and Lindsey Streets about a personal injury accident.
When officers arrived, they found that a juvenile had been struck by a pickup truck. The teenager had a possible head injury and was flown by helicopter from the scene to an Indianapolis hospital for further treatment.
Police spoke to the driver of the vehicle, a 72-year-old man from Columbus, and several witnesses. It appears that the juvenile crossed Lindsey Street going east at 5th Street when a Chevrolet Silverado traveling south on Lindsey Street hit him.
The teen is believed to be in stable condition.
