COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Columbus Area Arts Council invites the public to a free reception and pop-up musical performance at the 6th Street Arts Alley this Thursday, May 7, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The 411 Galley on 6th Street will host the reception on Thursday for Michele Pollock’s To Know This Place exhibit that runs through May 29.
The evening will also feature live drumming by Southern Indiana Taiko, Chubby's Wood Fired Pizza, and beverages by Elev8 Events. Come grab a bite and experience the fun at the event, which is in collaboration with First Thursdays’ Downtown Columbus.
Pollock spent seven years creating To Know This Place, a large-format artist book that is also the centerpiece of her exhibition. The book is made up of small quilts, each depicting plants and animals from her favorite forest walk.
If you can't make it Thursday night, the exhibit's regular hours are Thursdays and Fridays, from noon to 6 p.m., and by appointment.
