GREENWOOD, Ind. – Amazon plans to invest more than $100 million to establish a new advanced manufacturing operation in Greenwood, bringing 300 high-paying jobs and a significant new investment to Johnson County.
The approximately 585,000-square-foot facility, at 1175 Collins Road, will manufacture products that support Amazon’s fulfillment and robotics network across North America and is expected to begin operations by 2028.
“We want projects that bring real, long-term value to our community, and 300 skilled jobs with average salaries of nearly $100,000 a year is exactly the kind of opportunity we want to see,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark W. Myers. “Amazon’s investment reflects the kind of high-quality development that strengthens our economy, creates meaningful careers, and adds to Greenwood’s future. We look forward to welcoming this new advanced manufacturing operation to our city.”
The new building will bring advanced fabrication, robotic welding, automated powder coating, and assembly capabilities together under one roof, supported by AI-powered smart manufacturing systems and robotics. Positions will include CNC operators, welders, powder coating technicians, assemblers, manufacturing engineers, quality assurance specialists, controls engineers, and program managers.
Amazon expects the Greenwood facility to launch in 2028. The project builds on the company’s existing presence in Indiana, where Amazon has operated since 2008. It has invested more than $40 billion and created more than 27,000 direct jobs statewide.
