COLUMBUS, Ind. - Bartholomew County was honored at the annual Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) conference on Wednesday, September 23, with the 2026 Local Government Corporation Award for its Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
The award honors local government initiatives that demonstrate exceptional cooperation among agencies to address community challenges and improve service for residents.
The Bartholomew County ICAC Task Force exemplifies this mission through its innovative partnership with the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office, Columbus Police Department, and Bartholomew County Prosecutor's Office to combat internet-facilitated crimes against children.
In June 2024, the Bartholomew County Commissioners formally established the partnership among the three agencies, creating a unified approach to investigating and prosecuting online crimes against children.
