COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Columbus City Council passed the second reading and official adoption of Ordinance No. 2026, establishing the city’s budget for fiscal year 2027.
The budget process involved collaboration between the city administration, department heads, and council members.
City officials praised administrative staff for structural improvements in financial reporting and long-term budget planning over recent years.
Council members noted that while the overall budget reflects shared priorities, future cycles will aim to engage council members earlier in the fiscal year to refine financial goals ahead of formal review.
