COLUMBUS, Ind. — The City of Columbus has finalized its municipal insurance coverage renewals, maintaining flat rates for workers’ compensation while capping property and equipment cost increases at 1.1%.
The city secured a fixed $144,443 premium for excess workers' compensation under a two-year rate guarantee established during the previous policy period.
Under its workers’ compensation structure, the city remains self-insured up to $500,000 for general employees and up to $750,000 for public safety officers in police and fire departments.
The secondary coverage package covers municipal property, vehicle fleets, and portable equipment, totaling $1,111,421. Wind and hail coverage terms renew separately at the start of the calendar year
