EDINBURGH, Ind. - The Edinburgh Town Council approved an interdepartmental loan during its August 31 meeting to fund immediate repairs and preliminary engineering studies for the town’s wastewater system.
The council authorized a $500,000, interest-free loan over a five-year period from the electric utility to the wastewater utility.
The funds will cover critical infrastructure repairs and support a wastewater preliminary engineering report being conducted by Wesler Engineering.
By financing the repairs internally without charging interest, town officials aim to support necessary wastewater updates while efficiently managing town resources across utility departments.
