NORTH VERNON, Ind. – UPDATE (6:30 p.m.) The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) has announced that State Road 7 at the U.S. 50 intersection is now open, and the area is safe.
An NVPD spokesperson stated, "We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while law enforcement worked to address the situation."
Original Story (3:50 p.m.) - State Road 7, near Casey's Gas Station in North Vernon, is currently closed due to an active bomb threat on Monday, August 31.
As of 3:45 p.m., the roadway outside of Casey's and every entrance into the building have been closed by the North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) until the bomb squad arrives on scene.
