SEYMOUR, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced upcoming single-lane closures on southbound I-65 in Jackson and Scott counties.
On or after Monday, May 11, crews will begin widening work on southbound I-65 between Seymour (Exit 50) and Scottsburg (Exit 29) for a planned interstate patching and bridge rehabilitation project.
Workers will intermittently close the left lane of southbound I-65 in various locations throughout the project area (between mile markers 50 and 29) while widening work is in progress. Southbound maintenance is expected to take up to two weeks, weather permitting.
Following completion of widening work on southbound I-65, crews will start widening work on northbound I-65 and patching operations on southbound I-65. The overall project is expected to be complete in late October.

This project is part of a $7.9 million contract awarded to Milestone Contractors, L.P. in March 2026.
Drivers should slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work schedules are subject to change.
