COLUMBUS, Ind. -Ivy Tech Community College Columbus invites high school students and their families to a campus-wide open house on April 28 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Moravec Hall, 4475 Central Ave.
This open house will make the college exploration process clearer, easier, and engaging as you connect directly with faculty, staff, and program experts while enjoying hands-on demonstrations and a cookout. Attendees will gain insights into timelines, application steps, and strategies for transitioning into higher education.
Students and their families can meet Ivy Tech’s faculty and staff to learn about the college’s wide range of academic programs. Representatives will be available to answer questions, discuss career pathways, and help students understand how Ivy Tech’s programs align with their goals.
Financial aid professionals will provide an overview of federal and state grants, institutional scholarships, and private scholarship opportunities. Attendees will learn how to combine different types of aid to reduce out-of-pocket expenses and make college more affordable.

COLUMBUS, Ind. - Columbus Fire Department (CFD) Investigators are working to determine the cause of an early Saturday morning fire on 31st Street. Firefighters searched the home and found no one inside. They then located a fire in the kitchen and quickly extinguished the blaze.
