Ivy Tech Columbus offers Jennings County nature hike

COLUMBUS, Ind. - Ivy Tech Community College Columbus science faculty members regularly offer free local nature hikes for anyone interested in learning more about the natural environment around them.

The next hike is this Saturday, June 6, at 10 a.m., in the Selmier State Forest, 905 E. County Road 350N, in North Vernon. Ivy Tech Columbus science faculty member Dr. Tom Sobat will lead the hike, focusing on birdwatching and wildflower discoveries.

The adventure is open to the public, and all community members are welcome. Hikers will meet in the parking area.

The college will have some binoculars available for public use, but participants are encouraged to bring their own if they have them.
