COLUMBUS, Ind. - A long-time City of Columbus community development office assistant, Jerry Duncan. retired on Friday, April 17.
Duncan served the city for 24 years, spending those years performing various administrative duties in the Community Development Office.
During his tenure, he created scrapbooks featuring news clippings of the four different Columbus mayors he worked for, from Fred Armstrong to current Mayor Mary Ferdon.
Outside of Columbus City Hall, Duncan is an avid golfer. He also donates blood every six to eight weeks and knows where to find the best breakfast deals in town.
During his retirement party at Columbus City Hall, Columbus Mayor Mary Ferdon thanked Duncan for his years of service to the city. She also read a proclamation declaring April 17 as Jerry Duncan Day and presented him with a key to the city.
