NORTH VERNON, IN – The North Vernon Police Department took a Madison woman into custody on charges of Reckless Driving on Saturday, March 28.
Officers responded to a report of a reckless driver traveling northbound near Muscatatuck Park and located the suspect vehicle, a black SUV, and observed it swerving between lanes, accelerating erratically, and nearly colliding with another vehicle.The driver, identified as 28 year old Cassondra S. Lockridge of Madison, Indiana, showed multiple signs of impairment, including difficulty maintaining balance, slowed movements, and impaired coordination. During the investigation, Lockridge admitted to consuming prescription medication prior to driving.
Officers conducted field sobriety tests, during which Lockridge showed clear signs of impairment. A search of her person resulted in the discovery of suspected Xanax pills. Lockridge later consented to a blood draw, and a breath test administered at the jail showed a result of 0.194 BrAC.
Lockridge was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jennings County Jail. She is currently facing the following charges:
Operating While Intoxicated – Endangerment (A-Misdemeanor)
Operating While Intoxicated (C-Misdemeanor)
Possession of a Controlled Substance (A-Misdemeanor)
Legend Drug Act (Level 6 Felony)
