Our Hospice returns to roots for 2026 Concert

1990 concert at BCPL-Courtesy of Our Hospice

Columbus, Ind. - The 40th Annual Our Hospice Concert will take place on Saturday, September 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bartholomew County Public Library steps in downtown Columbus, where the concert began in 1987.

While Our Hospice has served the community since 1980, the concert tradition started 40 years ago to bring neighbors together to learn about hospice care in support of its mission to "Make Every Moment Count."

This 40th milestone year returns the event to its original downtown setting for a free, outdoor community event honoring the past and building the future. The 2026 Title Sponsor is Dunlap General and Mechanical Contractors, whose continued support helps ensure the event remains accessible to the entire community.

Steph Cain, President of Our Hospice, said, “For 46 years, Our Hospice has supported patients and their loved ones during life’s most difficult moments. Returning to the library steps where the very first concert took place is a wonderful way to gather the community."

This year’s music features local favorites 40 Years of College and 3 Beards Strummin. Local food and beverage vendors will be available on site.

As part of the 40th anniversary celebration, a student poster design contest is open to all high school students in Bartholomew County. Design kits and submission details are available at ourhospice.org/concert. Submissions are due by Wednesday, March 25. The selected winner will receive a band-signed concert poster, an exclusive swag package, reserved seating at the event, and a $500 scholarship to be applied toward college or trade school expenses.

Raffle tickets will be available again this year for $10 each for a chance to win $10,000. The drawing will take place during the concert, and participants do not need to be present to win.

Sponsorship opportunities are available at multiple levels for businesses and community partners who want to support this long-standing tradition. For more information, call Tabitha Saltzman at 812.662.3194 or email tsaltzman@ourhospice.org.
