SEYMOUR, Ind. - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in the area of Broadway Street in Seymour on Wednesday, October 7. Just before 10 p.m., Seymour Police Department officers responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, they located the victim still under the train. The pedestrian was removed from under the train and transported to Schneck Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The name of the victim is not being released until identification and notification of family. Members of the Seymour Police Department's Serious and Fatal Crash Investigation Team, along with the Seymour Investigations Division, documented the incident.
The Seymour Fire Department, Jackson County EMS, and Jackson County Emergency Management assisted.
