COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) is investigating a possible domestic battery incident that began late Sunday and continued into the early morning hours of Monday at a residence in the 11000 block of S. 800W.
The victim, who shares a child with the suspect and lives with him, went to a neighbor’s house to call for assistance and report the incident. During the investigation, deputies established probable cause to arrest 22-year-old David Sindlinger of Columbus for multiple offenses.
BCSO determined that Sindlinger allegedly battered his live-in girlfriend and pointed a firearm at both the victim and their child.
Following Sindlinger’s arrest, officers obtained a search warrant for the home to locate and supposedly recovered a firearm and suspected narcotics. During the subsequent search, suspected cocaine was allegedly located inside the residence.
Sindlinger was taken into custody and preliminarily charged with the following offenses:
- Domestic Battery in the Presence of a Minor
- Strangulation
- Criminal Confinement
- Possession of Cocaine
- Dealing in Cocaine
- Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon
This is a preliminary investigation. All persons are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
