TAYLORSVILLE, Ind. - A fully engulfed semi-truck fire closed northbound I-65 at Mile Marker 76.8, near the Taylorsville exit, on Wednesday morning, April 15.
Edinburgh Fire and Rescue crews acted quickly to contain and extinguish the fire. Thanks to a rapid response and coordinated effort, the fire was quickly brought under control, and the semi-truck and trailer were removed from the roadway.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and no injuries were reported.

The right lane is closed at Mile Marker 76.8 near the Taylorsville exit due to a fully engulfed semi-truck fire on Wednesday morning, April 15.
Traffic is currently at a standstill in the area while emergency crews are on scene working to extinguish the fire. Drivers are advised to get on the interstate at the 80-mile marker ramp.
UPDATE at 8:38 a.m. - The left lane is now open on northbound I-65; however, lane restrictions are in place while the semi and trailer are removed.
UPDATE at 10:30 a.m. Edinburgh Fire and Rescue crews acted quickly to contain and extinguish the fire. Traffic is back to normal on I-65.
