SEYMOUR, Ind. — The Seymour Board of Public Works and Safety addressed several utility adjustments and local business permits during its meeting on Thursday, Oct. 8.

Board members evaluated four separate sewer bill adjustment requests presented by Clerk-Treasurer Darrin Boas. They approved standard adjustments for underground pipe leaks at 715 North O'Brien Street ($231) and 326 South Broadway ($661), and a pool fill credit for 2287 Schleter Road ($288.36).

The board also discussed a $2,243.00 sewer bill for a renovated property at 317 East 6th Street. The water was turned off two years ago, but inspection indicated potential meter tampering or unauthorized use during renovation. Following input from utility administration, the board applied its standard vacant property leak rule, approving a two-thirds reduction that set the property owner's payable amount to $721.23.

In other business, the board approved a Type 2 mobile food truck vendor license and confirmed temporary single-lane closures for crosswalk striping by Danis Construction near the hospital on US 50 and for lift usage by Royalty Roofing on North Walnut Street.
