SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department (SPD) arrested a local man on child abuse and neglect charges on Tuesday, February 3.
In December 2025, SPD investigators received a preliminary report of child abuse or neglect from the Indiana Department of Child Services advising that a five-year-old child had significant bruising to the body.
On February 3, Seymour detectives and patrol officers charged Tristan T. Shelton, 28, of Seymour, with domestic battery with bodily injury to a person under the age of 14 (level 5 felony) and neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury (level 5 felony).
Shelton was taken into custody and incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail.
All suspects depicted are presumed innocent until, or unless, proven guilty in a court of law.
